The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Materiel Management Specialist responsible for providing strategic oversight required to successfully manage, sustain, and support all weapon system platforms assigned to the Air National Guard (ANG) Logistics Readiness Squadrons (LRS), Geographically Separated Units (GSU), and Combat Readiness Training Centers (CRTC).
Duties
Materiel Management Supply Chain: Requires the performance of Materiel Management Specialist and Logistics Supply Chain Manager duties to include but not limited to extensive use and knowledge of the Accountability Property System of Record (APSR), collaborating with DLA, as well as with sister services or other sources of supply when required.
Manages the APSR to ensure all wartime taskings are supportable relative to various systems for the ANG.
Attends worldwide meetings as the ANG representative. Participates in AF level conferences, working groups, and meetings as the ANG Representative ensuring ANG senior level awareness and engagement.
Coordinates with HAF, Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC), AFMC Combat Ready Airman Office, MAJCOM representatives, and other HQs or staff agencies to ensure logistical support of the initial lay-in of equipment is provided.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series, 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of supply chain management principles, procedures, techniques, and practices. Knowledge of supply chain management concepts, policies, methods, and regulatory guidance sufficient to conduct independent reviews and resolve difficult issues and problems in assigned area of responsibility. Knowledge of negotiating solutions to resolve disputed recommendations. Knowledge in assessing using all applicable data systems and computer-based office management tools.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of APSR supply systems, utilized by all AF commands. In-depth knowledge of the Air Force, National Guard and National Guard Bureau supply/readiness programs and policies.
Ability to thoroughly interrogate, review and quality check for adherence to Air Force, National Guard, National Guard Bureau Supply Program Policies and Procedures.
Working knowledge of Air National Guard Materiel Management functions at the unit level. Ability to monitor programs and management functions.
Ability to gather facts and use effective, analytical, and evaluative methods to accurately assess information and make sound decisions.
Ability to communicate effectively with other agencies, both orally and in writing, to generate solutions to problems or questions relating to work.
Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of program operations.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
