You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT/SYSADMIN) in the CUSTOMER SUPPORT DIVISION of FLT NUMER OCEANGPHY METEO CTR.
Duties
You will respond to technical support tickets, incidents, and requests for services within priority timelines using supported ticket tracking systems (e.g ServiceNow, Service Desk).
You will conduct testing to ensure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing procedures and regulations as needed.
You will re-install any software as needed, apply software upgrades, and configure print services.
You will oversee functions tests of the hardware/software to resolve technical problems and ensure on-site repairs are correctly accomplished.
You will develop and provide formal or informal training to ensure users understand the relationships of the system and can operate it without undue interruption.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code System Administrator, proficiency level Intermediate, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and DON policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
To qualify for the IT Specialist (CUSTSPT/SYSADMIN), GS-2210-12, your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with applying a wide range of IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices to plan and carry out difficult and complex assignments.
Experience providing advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues.
Experience creating clear and convincing oral presentations.
Experience identifying problems, evaluating alternatives, determining the accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment and making recommendations
Experience providing technical leadership on group projects and interpreting IT policies, standards, and guidelines.
Experience with various server operating systems, device drivers, and networking hardware and software to analyze, design, develop, test, implement, and administer all software and hardware required to achieve a total operational system.
Experience performing on-the-spot resolution to operational problems to include providing Active Directory administration.
Experience with a wide range of IT standards, principles, concepts, methods, policies, and authorized approaches for IT.
