About the Position: This position is with 79th Sustainment Support Command, 451st Expeditionary Sustainment Command located in Wichita, Kansas.

Duties

Analyze administrative functions of Command and recommend new or revised procedures or policies. Coordinate and monitor staff section assignments to ensure day to day operations are met. Brief command on status of problems, special studies, and other matters of special interest. Provide advice and assistance on civilian personnel administrative matters. Create formal programs for workshops, conferences, and social events. Review correspondence to identify appropriate area of dissemination. Establish Command protocol policy and procedures. Advise community leaders and all attendees of proper protocol policy regarding social functions. Provide information to multiple levels in the chain of command. Organize conferences and other formal functions on the behalf of the Command Group.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position required the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance for the duration of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing, evaluating and implementing administrative management guidance; manage and schedule calendar; draft and finalize correspondence for signature of executive personnel; use automated systems to coordinate/prepare travel arrangements; identify key issues/events and ensure proper protocol, details and logistics are coordinated; represent executive staff at conferences, trainings, or social events; and develop administrative policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management or Administration Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
