This position is located in the National Finance Center, Government Employees Services Division, Client Services Directorate, Training & Communications Branch, Training Section in New Orleans, LA.
This position serves as Head of the Training Section in the Client Services Directorate, Training and Communications Branch.
Duties
Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the Unit.
Organizes projects and ongoing assignments for the delivery of training services allowing for contingencies.
Exercises responsibility for receiving and analyzing audit reports, providing timely responses to the responsible audit organization, and takes corrective action when appropriate.

Requirements
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.

- Successfully completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.

- Subject to one year supervisory/managerial probationary period unless prior service is creditable. New USDA supervisors must successfully complete all components of the required training program before the end of their probationary period.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
GS-13: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Experience developing training classes to support objectives for both internal and external customers; 2) Experience managing subordinates to establish status reporting requirements; 3) Experience designing and delivering online training modules, guides, and job aids; 4) Experience planning, organizing, and directing the work of a section.
Time in grade: One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to be eligible for the GS-13. Time in grade requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Applicants MUST submit an SF-50 that illustrates Time-in-Grade and reflects Title, Series, and Grade. No Award SF-50 will be accepted.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education
