About the Position: Incumbent serves as the Fort Walker Current Operations Manager with the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization & Security (DPTMS) at Fort Walker, VA.
Locality Pay Area of Washington-Baltimore-Arlington, DC-MD-VA-WV-PA 33.26% effective January 2024.
Duties
Provides management, direction, and oversight of the Current Operations Branch.
Provides input on policies and procedures concerning assigned technical and administrative duties.
Assists in developing policies concerning the establishment and improvement of assigned duties and ensures compliance with goals and standards established for Range Operations.
Serves as the Quality Control Manager for Range Operations.
Advises the Range Management Authority on branch budget status, cost estimates, funding status, Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) changes, and manpower staffing requirements for the Range Branch.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) knowledge of regulations and operating procedures for weapons use and firing and range operator methods, and 2) knowledge of range safety policies and procedures concerning surface danger zones, weapon systems and ammunitions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
