This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct Hire Authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will preforms electrocardiography procedures You will performs advanced and invasive airway procedures (i.e. endotracheal intubation, I.V. therapy, pleural decompression, needle or surgical cricothyrotomy) You will performs advanced assessment and treatment of pediatric patients. You will administers medications and solutions orally or intravenously. You will documents drugs used and provides updates to the transporting hospital. You will use and maintain all emergency equipment (e.g. specialized kits, backboards, splints, oxygen delivery systems, monitoring equipment). You will maintain current inventory and proper control of authorized on-hand medications.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is considered Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Certifications: Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic, Driver/Operator Pumper, Hazardous Material Operations, Emergency Vehicle Operator, and U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card (OF 346).
  • You must possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • Must possess and maintain current EMT certification (National Registry).
  • This position requires rotating shift work.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responding to fire alarms, structure fires, vehicle fires, hazardous materials incidents and other technical rescue events as a certified member of a firefighting crew.
