You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the S-4 Department, Fire an Emergency Services of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.

Duties

You will submit the annual emergency services budget requirements for mission related projects, equipment acquisition, travel, training, and contractual services. You will assume responsibility for fire and emergency services division operations in the absence of the Fire Chief. You will aid in managing the agency’s Fire Prevention Branch, by developing and overseeing, the installation’s community risk-reduction program, plan reviews, public education, and safety inspections. You are responsible for the execution of administrative and personnel management functions elated to the accomplishment of the assigned missions. You will conduct position management surveys; ensure that an efficient and economical position structure is maintained, that will provide for career and promotional opportunity and skills development. You will promote acceptance and adherence to provision of such programs as Federal women’s Programs, Physically Handicapped, Labor-Management, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA), and other special emphasis groups.   • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This is a Emergency Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You may be required to undergo psychological and/or physical medical evaluations to verify my ability to perform the essential duties of this position to determine physical suitability to perform the duties of this position.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Fire Officer IV within one year of employment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position requires rotating shift work.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade (GS-10) level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. CERTIFICATIONS RQUIREMENTS: You are required to possess the following Firefighter certifications: Hazardous Material Awareness, Hazardous Awareness Operations, HAZMAT Technician HAZMAT Incident Command, Fire Officer III, Fire Instructor II Fire Inspector II FEMA/NIMS Certifications: ICS-100, ICS-20, ICS-300, ICS-400, ICS-700, and ICS-800.
