You will serve as a Technician in the Advance Exploitation Company, Operations Department, EXPEDITIONARY EXPLOITATION UNIT ONE of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $153,354).
The NT-04 pay band encompasses positions equal to the GS-11/12
The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equal to the GS-13/14
Duties
You will serve as a Advance Exploitation Team Lead and be responsible for the safe handling of foreign and domestic weapons systems/subsystems and other collected exploitable materiel (CEM).
You will lead detailed radiographic examinations on weapons systems/subsystems, ordnance, and CEM.
You will evaluate resultant imagery.
You will lead disassembly and exploitation in support of a start-of-the-art munitions exploitation capability.
You will ensure correct preparation of shipping documents, materials and methods are used to ship foreign and domestic weapons systems/subsystems according to worldwide shipping laws and regulations.
You will apply expert knowledge of foreign ordnance collection, correct identification, material condition and transportation configuration of environmentally distressed, post deployment weapons assemblies in a marine environment.
You will and ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment in support of ordnance recovery operations.
You will serve as Hazardous Materials Team Leader while on deployment.
This position is eligible for regular and recurring telework.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
Qualifications
For the NT-05:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading disassembly, exploitation, or technical intelligence in support of exploitation capabilities to ensure foreign and domestic laws and regulations are met.
For the NT-04:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-3 (GS-9/10 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: collecting, examining, analyzing, or shipping foreign materiel for the purpose of conducting exploitation or technical intelligence for an organization.
