You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST (ANTITERRORISM / FORCE PROTECTION) in the STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS WING ONE (SCW-1) of STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS WING ONE.
Duties
You will be responsible for the Non-Guard Security functions pertaining to the physical protection of sensitive materials or processes against criminal terrorists, Antiterrorism (AT), and/or hostile activities
You will develop and process methodology and courses of action to anticipate, prevent, detect, deter, delay, and defeat adversaries and risk associated with mission assets and personnel
You will serve as the technical authority on matters involving AT/FP
You must have a detailed knowledge of AT and FP programs and understand how the program applies to his/her unit
You will develop and maintain local AT/FP programs and policies as the ATO
You will develop logical and effective installation policy and procedures
You will coordinate, de-conflict, and integrate various force protection processes, assessments, and activities across the command
You will research and recommend new and improved security methods and procedures for the command
You will coordinate with and assist evaluation teams in developing realistic and relevant scenarios to exercise and validate the AT program
You will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of physical security discipline necessary to provide guidance and training to command organizations/activities/units
You will serve as the ATO and are the direct liaison between Navy security forces and host base security officials at home base and all operational locations
You will interact with related local, state, and federal agencies to provide a forum for the crossflow of information and to address threats
You will treat a variety of conventional problems, questions, or situations in conformance with established criteria
You will prepare risk assessments and formulate risk mitigation strategies in terms of recognized objectives based on current information and intelligence
You will collect, assemble, analyze, and assess background data and other threat, critical, and vulnerable information
You will interpret higher headquarter directives for command-wide applicability and implementation
You will analyze problems, mission vulnerabilities, security impacts to Physical Security (PS), and integration difficulties for the security disciplines
You will evaluate unit and tenant unit practices and activities to ensure compliance with directives and integration with other security and repeated programs

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must successfully pass and maintain Nay Antiterrorism Officer qualification in accordance with Navy guidance.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector maintaining a physical security program by analyzing policies, assessing compliance and improving procedures to mitigate risk and vulnerabilities within an organization.

Education
Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such degree
OR
Possession of an LL.M. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
