The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Center Senior Government Special Security Officer responsible for the implementation, establishment, administration, oversight and security management of established Department of Defense and Air Force security programs.
Duties
Works with new program activities to identify appropriate facilities for short and/or long-term use. Assists with preparation, construction and accreditation of Special Access Program facilities (SAPF), as necessary.
Prepares and presents, and/or facilities high level briefings to senior leaders and to all Center field units.
Assists in the development of inspection briefings, reports and provide results to the organization's Special Access Program Management Office (SAPMO), Chief of Security, Chief of Inspections and Command Program Security Officer (COMPSO).

- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Program Integration Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee entrance-on-duty (EOD).
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-03, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-13 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience include experience managing multi-functional security related activities in areas such as Information Security, Personnel Security, Industrial Security, Physical Security and Security Risk Management; conducting security program evaluation and oversight activities; and providing comprehensive security advisory services to senior management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Mastery knowledge of security policies, procedures, and practices related to the acquisition and logistics supportability disciplines, their interrelationships, resources and applicability to the mission of organization.
2. Extensive knowledge of a wide range of IT principles, concepts and methods.
3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
5. Demonstrated skill in both oral and written communications for the purpose of effectively preparing and/or presenting a diverse array of documentation and other materials.
6. Comprehensive knowledge of the intelligence community directives applicable to the establishment and management of Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities.
7. Thorough knowledge of special program and specialized management of the government security network to respond to and solve varied and complex security issues with sensitive situations.
