This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women, in Washington, D.C. The primary purpose of this position is to provide guidance to Office on Violence Against Women on grantmaking policy and procedures, serve as a subject matter expert for the Department of Justice, and supervise the Associate Directors who manage the bulk of Office on Violence Against Women grant programs, staff, and funding.

The duties and responsibilities for a 1109 Supervisory Grants Management Specialist generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Coordinates and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. Develops organization grant management strategies, policies and procedures. Plans work assignments and establishes production or quality standards for the unit's work. Guides organization policies on emerging issues in the field of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, sex trafficking, or related issues.

  • You must be a current permanent Department of Justice employee with competitive status or a CTAP/RPL eligible candidate.
  • You must meet all applicable time-in-grade requirements by the closing of this announcement.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Supervisory Grants Management Specialist (Principal Associate Director), (GS-1109-15), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade. If you are a current Department of Justice employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. To qualify for the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Overseeing grant programs. Developing organization grant management strategies, plans, policies, or procedures related to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking and/or similar victim programs. Performing administrative or human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised. Advising or assisting management and/or program officials with grants programs. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement, 08/23/2024. Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For the GS-15 level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. No substitution of education for experience is permitted.
