As a IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will be responsible for the analysis, planning, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of the enterprise structural framework to align IT strategy, plans, and systems with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the organization. The incumbent is responsible for managing business relationships of DeCA's business mission and goals.
Duties
Serves as the IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) HQ location. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for Automated Information Systems (AIS); executes the DeCA Cybersecurity Program.
Position responsibilities include:
Responsible for ensuring that software, hardware and physical security controls are integrated into the AIS Security Program.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of Information System security development as it relates to software and data communications in order to provide professional guidance.
Serves on various planning teams, committees and panels established to provide recommendations for computer security standards.
Assists in the cost effectiveness of AIS security features which are currently implemented and those which are planned for future development and implementation.

To qualify for this position your resume and supporting documents must show that you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level or equivalent to at least GS-09 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Or a Ph.D. or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. This experience may have been gained in the private or military sector.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience:
Develops recommendations for acceptance, rejection, or modification.
Resolve integration issues related to the implementation of new systems within the existing infrastructure.
Develop long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.
Education
Education used to qualify for this position must be from an accredited school or educational institution recognized by the
U.S. Department of Education and a copy of your transcript is required as part of your application package.
