You will serve as a IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC) with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).
All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties
You will provide (UNIX/Linux) system administration support for NCIS enterprise systems to monitor and manage servers and applications.
You will work closely with assigned information assurance personnel to ensure timely position and of all approved security.
You will report outages, hazardous conditions, authorized service interruptions in accordance with established policies and regulations.
You will provide information concerning enterprise conditions to the supervisors.
You will make recommendations for short- and long-term system improvements.

- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Performing a broad range of systems administration tasks associated with the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of information systems, services, security, and facilities operation; managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment; managing systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability; Inspecting and analyzing equipment and systems performance and network workload to determine maintenance and repair requirements, and recommends upgrades or replacements; performing technical surveys of facilities, systems, and equipment to ensure proper performance of information systems, evaluating in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) and DON standards; ensuring compliance with all DoD Information Assurance and security standards, such as Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), DON directives and policies, NCIS policies and procedures, and industry best business practices, as applicable to the NCIS IT infrastructure, including applications, database systems, and operating platforms in the delivery of planning and management of enterprise services.
