This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position serves as an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) for the Joint Special Operations Command. This position is located in Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Duties

Evaluate risk management packages for network access control. Review implementation of security tools such as firewalls and proxy servers for command. Develop policy for systems security requirements for managers. Execute network scans for information vulnerabilities in command data resources.

• This is a Sensitive, Critical, ADP level I position.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (SCI) Security Clearance with Specialized Compartmented Information access.
• This is a drug testing designated position. In accordance with AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, the incumbent must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to the appointment and periodically thereafter.
• This position may require Temporary Duty (TDY) 30 days or less with travel to various locations approximately 10% of the time.

• Employee must be able to obtain and maintain IAM Level 2 certification by completing one of the commercial certifications as outlined in DOD 8140/DODM 8570.01 within six months of employment.

Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: analyzing security effectiveness of installed systems; assessing cloud computing environments using the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process; troubleshoot security threats and vulnerabilities; overseeing aspects of the cybersecurity program to include operation, automation, and information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
