About the Position: The position is located at the US Army Installation Management Command, Directorate of Public Works (DPW), Fort Benning, GA. Fort Moore is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, GA, and adjacent to Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training.
Duties
Reviews engineering plans, specifications, and shop drawings for projects involving architectural, civil, and electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines for technical adequacy, conflicts between plans and specifications, and maintainability.
Serves as Chief, Inspection Section, Project Management Branch, Engineering Division with delegated responsibility and authority for planning and directing the overall operation of the section that includes five (5) construction inspectors.
Provide technical support and quality assurance for minor construction, maintenance and repair, and requirements contracts.
Designated as Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) for the administration of contract and task/delivery orders and delegated the authority to monitor the performance of the contract.
Participate in the interim and final evaluation of the contractor’s performance based on the contract value.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) reviewing final plans, models, and/or details for engineering/construction projects to ensure compliance; 2) inspecting contract work for proper completion and compliance with the contract quality assurance plan and award fee plans; and 3) developing work and design specifications governing shop fabrication, performance evaluation, assembly, and delivery of special adapting devices or parts of equipment/facilities and systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
