About the Position: This position performs training development and instructional work in the Transportation Management Training Department, USATSCH. The position is responsible for developing, preparing, managing course material for assigned blocks of instruction, providing and developing training materials and aids as needed, conducting classroom instruction and participating in Mobile Training Teams.
Duties
Communicate with key operational stakeholders to establish training implementation strategy.
Maintain direct liaison with proponent schools to ensure updated course content.
Ensure proper training materials are available to support the subject matter.
Ensure training is conducted in accordance with regulations and program instructions.
Convey course curricula under the Distributed Learning or resident concept to adult learners.
Deliver course material to ensure the audience is engaged in the learning process.
Explain to students the goals and standards needed to achieve course requirements.
Facilitate discussions to meet course learning objectives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 50% of the time.
- This position may require recurring lifting of light to moderately heavy items weighing less than 40 pounds.
- The incumbent may on occasion be required to work hours other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, or holidays
- The incumbent may be required to participate in readiness tests, mobilization exercises, and field-training exercises.
- The incumbent during field training exercises, mobilization or actual wartime conditions, may be required to live and work in difficult field condition in tents, or shelters for an indefinite period of time.
- The incumbent may be required to wear government provided Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-Yield Explosive (CBRNE) Equipment, including, if necessary, optical inserts for the protective mask.
- The incumbent may be required to undergo Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-Yield Explosive (CBRNE) Training familiarization training.
- The incumbent may be required to wear Battle Dress Uniform (BDU's), Load Carrying Equipment (LCE) and a ballistic helmet while deployed.
- The incumbent may be required to work on contingency missions or military exercises that take him/her to countries, where there are no existing host nations agreements, no logistical infrastructure.
- Deployments for contingency operations often entail one or more of the following environmental conditions, hot, cold, arid, and dusty conditions.
- The incumbent may be required to work overtime on occasion.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction in the field of Transportation such as, assisting in the development of training/course materials and aids, supervising, or administering a training program, performing work in the field of Transportation that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Transportation Management or Logistics Management field(s) of study].
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be ed to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
