You will serve as an Assistant Operations Officer (Joint Operations Center [JOC]) in the Operations Directorate (J3), Current Operations Division (J33), Joint Operations Center (J335) Branch of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.

Duties
You will provide all-domain 24/7/365 monitoring and reporting across the conflict continuum from peace to war on a range of operations.
You will assist the JOC Operations Officer (OPSO) monitoring the execution of all combined, joint operations and exercises being conducted within the USINDOPACOM area of responsibility (AOR).
You will brief the Joint Staff’s National Military Command Center (NMCC), USINDOPACOM senior leadership, and allies and partners on the progress of combined, joint operations and exercises followed by written reports.
You will ensure JOC personnel who work with classified information are kept abreast of changes in policies, procedures, and provide assistance in problem solving.
You will control and manage the J3 Directorate’s Badge Access levels and J335 JOC Physical Accesses using the Badge Access System.
You will provide disclosure/release recommendations to the Foreign Disclosure Officer (FDO); final release authority resides with the FDO.
You will train/advise JOC Branch in Foreign Disclosure policies and procedures.
You will assist in the preparation of the USINDOPACOM JOC to participate in various high visibility combined and joint exercises that spans the spectrum of military operations and include national level oversight.
You will assist in the development of training plans and schedules to prepare the JOC for exercises.
You will perform other Current Operations (or related) duties as assigned by higher-level officials, and/or equivalent leadership personnel.

- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
GS-13:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying an extensive knowledge, skill, and ability managing operational and administrative tasks with minimal supervision for a 24/7/365 operations center. You must also have experience and the ability to interact with a range of senior personnel to include flag and general officers, senior military officers, senior international officers, senior government civilians, and contractors. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Completing operational tasks such as monitoring and reporting on combined and joint operations and exercises that have the highest level of interest from senior leaders at the Department of Defense and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM); 2) Successfully completing time sensitive tasks during crisis situations; 3) Providing comprehensive verbal and written summaries of critical events with little to no supervision; 4) Managing a range of personnel administrative tasks that include military and civilian evaluations, military and civilian awards, and military personnel assignments; and 5) Managing records in accordance with Federal and Department of Defense regulations and guidelines.
GS-12:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a knowledge, skill, and ability handling operational and administrative tasks with minimal supervision for an operations center. You must also have experience and the ability to interact with a range of senior personnel to include flag and general officers, senior military officers, senior international officers, senior government civilians, and contractors. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with operational tasks such as monitoring and reporting on combined and joint operations and exercises that have the highest level of interest from senior leaders at the Department of Defense and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM); 2) Successfully completing time sensitive tasks during highly critical situations; 3) Providing comprehensive verbal and written summaries of critical events with little supervision; 4) Assisting with a range of personnel administrative tasks that include military and civilian evaluations, military and civilian awards, and military personnel assignments; and 5) Handling records in accordance with Federal and Department of Defense regulations and guidelines.
