You will serve as a Deputy Director, Marine and Family Services in the Marine and Family Services Division (M&FS) of the regionalized Marine Corps Community Services-South Carolina (MCCS-SC) Department of MCAS BEAUFORT SC. Duties

You will ensure that studies and analyses of needs and requirements are conducted through communication with subordinate managers, families, parental groups, commanding officers, and other individuals, organizations, constituencies. You will assist development of long term strategic goals and plans for the Marine and Family Services Division as well as operational goals and plans for near time execution. You will respond to patron needs and addresses issues. You will assist with Command Requests for assistance as resources, particularly budget and staffing. You will recommend new or revised policies and thoroughly justifies reasons for recommendations. You will manage a subordinate staff of employees encompassing twenty six programs provided on two installations. You will review and approves serious disciplinary actions (suspensions, etc.) in regards to the workforce, working closely with two different unions as well as the EEO program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing, planning, and managing programs ( ex. family care, EQUAL Employment Opportunity) that provide various services to a specific customer base to address employee grievances/issues/performance rating and developing and analyzing budgets.
