About the Position: This is a Supply Technician position located in Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

Duties

Utilize extensive knowledge of local and system-wide supply programs to establish and maintain stock accountability through the establishment and maintenance of supply records. Receive requisition documents from supported activities, review for completeness and priority, and ensure all controls and requirements are met, i.e., replenishment levels, storage and space consideration, supply sources, etc. Maintain technical reference library, locating and posting new reference material and changes. Assist personnel in use of reference sources. Establish automatic and manual accounting records, post hand-receipts and turn-ins, and perform due-in/due-out accounting. Visually inspect, count and segregate incoming supplies, equipment and repair parts. Perform inventories and location surveys.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 25 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
  • This position requires a Tuberculosis vaccination.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Management or Supply Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsInventory ManagementSupply PlanningTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
