This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Atlanta Regional Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides technical support for all types of applications.

Duties
Updates the Structure Information Management System (SIMS) with bank branch closings, senior management changes, and bank name changes.
Initiates and processes Background Investigation Database System (BIDS) requests, creating records in BIDS to obtain Department of Justice Identification Checks and Name Checks, particularly on new proposed banks.
Reviews the application approval packages for completeness and consistency.
Reviews State Banking Department bulletins for notices of acceptance, approvals and denials to determine if required application forms have been requested from the FDIC and evidence of State actions have been received.
Maintains application tracking systems for use by other Regional Office staff (e.g. weekly, monthly, and annual reports, etc.) and the Washington Office.
Maintains appropriate application tracking records by entering comments such as BIDS results, publication, state reply, and consummation dates, as needed, and closing records when complete.
Trains personnel in work techniques, procedures, and other requirements relative to the applications area.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-6 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative or technical support using automated systems to maintain, dispose of and retrieve records, to review and process requests or correspondence, and to gather information to generate reports.
