You will serve as a MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ANALYST in the NAVY ASHORE FOOD SERVICE GALLEY of COMMANDER - NAVAL INSTALLATIONS.

Duties

You will develop food service strategy and establish policies for Navy Ashore galleys food service operations supporting military dining facilities. You will participate in meetings, conference, and working groups with DoD and other Navy activities, covering food service operations to include research and development of nutritional menus and food service equipment. You will conduct site visits to installation food service operations and assess all Navy ashore galleys compliance and operational efficiency. You will provide advice and quantitative and qualitative analysis to subordinate commands on the efficiency and effectiveness of Navy ashore galleys. You will develop and conduct briefings to keep commanders informed on all matters of food service changes to programmatic operations, policy changes and trends. You will oversee the programming budget and execution of funds for the Galley Program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing or developing a DoD Food Service Program; 2) Advising managers on DoD Food Service Program Operations to provide recommendations for improvement; 3) Managing budget and fund allocation for appropriated and non-appropriated food service programs and projects; and 4) Reviewing or advising on various Food Service contract types.
