This position is to serve as an information technology specialist responsible for analyzing and specifying business requirements, developing systems specifications and participating in the design, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and
support of new or existing applications software for the agency.
Duties
Performs systems management of IT business, financial, technology or data management systems to include: project management, investment management, systems integration, project cost and schedule, performance, test and acceptance, deployment, configuration management, quality assurance, information security and product support.
Plans, develops and maintains systems specifications, project management plans and systems change packages.
Conducts feasibility studies, analysis of alternatives, and development of designs for systems software and programming specifications.
Analyzes and refines business requirements ensuring that application software documentation is maintained current as subsequent changes are made to the software.
Serves as Information Systems Security Officer, sustaining Risk Management framework posture; obtain and maintain certification and accreditation of assigned systems.
Evaluates new applications software technologies.

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 2210 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date.
Experience: One (1) year specialized equivalent to at least GS-11. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Delivering customer support services, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or training, in response to customer requirements.
Restoring system failures and/or devising recovery plans as required.
Performing capacity monitoring, analysis, and planning for IT resources and identifying upgrades and systems improvements required to maintain or improve effectiveness of the IT environment.
Recommending to IT management, customer support capabilities to be incorporated into present and future IT products.
Managing user accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment, to include administering and managing passwords.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Physical requirements: Although some slight physical effort may be required at times, the work is primarily sedentary in nature and does not require any special physical effort or demands.
