You will serve as a PAINTER HELPER in the Clean/Paint/Sandblast Shop, Waterfront Services Division, Repair Department, of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Duties

You will assist journey-level painters in preparing (e.g., descaling, sanding, washing, sandblasting, waterblasting, scraping) wood, metal, and other surfaces for painting. You will apply protective masking prior to spray painting. You will perform brush and roller painting under direct supervision. You will mix, stir, and strain various paint coatings. You will utilize cleaning agents to clean painting equipment. You will set up material storage and preparation service areas for sandblasting and painting.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
