You will serve as a PAINTER LEADER in the Docking/Waterfront Services Division, Repair Department at the Trident Refit Facility (TRIREFFAC), Bangor, Washington.

Duties

You will be working as a Leader/Instructor in the Waterfront Services Division, Shop 71A of Code 340. You will be considering skills required, material, specifications and equipment available to do the work. You will be enforcing regulations and rules on conduct, safety and housekeeping. You will be rotating shifts to perform leader or instructor duties in related areas. You must be able to set up all spray equipment, airless, conventional, HPLV, powder and epoxy. You will be setting up Hydro-Blast equipment for high pressure washing prior to paint application. You will be setting up sandblast equipment, cab blaster, vacuum blaster, Poppen Johnny blaster and selecting grit sizes. You will be instructing Helpers, Workers, Apprentices and Mechanics in proper and safe working practices to ensure the working area is cleaned and tools and equipment are secured at the end of the shift.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
