You will serve as a PAINTER SUPERVISOR I in the REPAIR DEPARTMENT, SERVICES DIVISION in the PAINTER/SANDBLAST SHOP of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Duties

You will serve as the Painter/Sandblaster Supervisor of the Painter/Sand-blaster shop (71A). Subordinate staffing of the shop includes 40 to 50 civilian and eight to ten military non-supervisory personnel. You will plan, assign and coordinate work activities and personnel of the shop; control and assign daily priorities, work schedules, assignments and methods of operation to meet deadlines and improve production practices. You will coordinate daily work deadlines, improve production practices; coordinate daily work of the shop with local personnel and ship’s force. You will assist subordinate employees in problem areas, i.e., interpretation of instructions, blueprints, shop sketches. You will be responsible for skills training through the entire apprentice/upward mobility programs; perform semi-annual and annual performance evaluations of subordinate employees. You will carry out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and communicate support of these policies to subordinate employees. You will inspect work in progress and upon completion ensure a quality product.

Requirements

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
