You will serve as a Training Specialist (HAZMAT) in the Navy Supply Corps School Department of NAVSCSCOL.
Duties
You will develop course lesson plans and other training materials for assigned courses.
You will manage courses needed to train personnel to accomplish critical certification requirements in the transportation of hazardous materials.
You will counsel and evaluate student performance to ensure training objectives are met.
You will conduct lectures, case studies, demonstrations, practical exercises, examinations, and critiques for assigned courses.
You will be responsible for class/classroom management, to include preparation of classrooms, insuring availability of training aids and class materials, student participation in training and other related tasks.
You will analyze effectiveness of training to recommend alternatives or changes.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Interpreting regulations related to the transportation of hazardous materials to provide instructions to personnel; 2) Preparing/implementing lesson plans to provide approved methods of instruction and consultation of the transportation of hazardous materials (e.g., federal regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials around the world via air, ground and vessel; and the computer systems associated with these tasks); and 3) Reviewing/interpreting instructions/regulations to develop reports on findings from data analysis on the transportation of hazardous materials educational program. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
OR
Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
OR
Successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.

Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
