The primary purpose of this position is: The primary purpose of this position: is to serve as the overall Group Commander's Support Staff supervisor. As such, the incumbent will administer and direct the Group Commander's Support Staff functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and oversees the full complement of activities within the Group Commander's Support Staff (CSS).
Plans, organizes and executes all Group information management and personnel activities.
Manages training programs for administration (3F5X1), education and training (3F2X1), and personnel (3F0X1) in accordance with established command guidelines.
Serves as the Group point of contact and liaison with the servicing Force Support Squadron on personnel and manpower actions.
Prepares and delivers presentations such as briefings, training sessions, and consultations with serviced Commander(s), other staff agencies and functional areas to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters and convey information.
Participates in special studies and projects relating to planning, coordinating, and analyzing the effectiveness/efficiency of the Group CSS in meeting Air Force Administration program goals.
Develops CSS consolidated resource plan for staff support to include budget, equipment, computers, supplies and required services.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
- May be required to work hours one weekend hours in conjunction with monthly Unit Training Assemblies

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include: (1) In-depth knowledge of military personnel policies, procedures, rules, guidelines, instructions, etc., to understand respective programs and discuss findings with functional managers; (2) Knowledge of the mission and unit is essential in addition to established management principles, techniques of analysis and evaluation to identify and recommend solutions to problems in organizational structure, staffing, administrative procedures, work processes or workload distribution; (3) knowledge of administrative processes, procedures automated systems, personal computers, and software employed, in order to make reports, correspondence, and extract data.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of analytical and investigative techniques to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity. Ability to analyze data/products.
2. Knowledge of management principles within both the civilian and military personnel systems, and the ability to integrate the civilian and military personnel aspects in order to successfully accomplish the organization's mission.
3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. personnel. Knowledge of training goals and objectives to assist in the management and implementation of training goals for the CSS personnel.
4. In-depth knowledge of administrative and military personnel policies, procedures, Reserve mission, training methods and programs, rules, guidelines, and instructions.
5. In-depth knowledge of the automated systems, personal computers, hardware, and software.
6. Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions and staff of an organization; communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: The VOW Act requires federal agencies to treat an eligible active duty service member as a veteran, disabled veteran, and preference eligible (as applicable) when applying for civil service positions before the effective release or discharge date. Appointment of military members before the release or discharge date is permissible if the member is on terminal leave. At the time the active duty member applies for a civil position, he or she must submit a "certification" memo in lieu of a DD-Form 214,
Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty. Active duty members applying for a civil service position without submitting a valid certification memo or DD-Form 214 with their application will render the member ineligible for the position. The certification memo must originate from the member's military service branch on official letterhead and contain the following:
