This position is located at the West Point Mint, Production Division, Numismatics Section and is responsible for a variety of processes used in the making of circulated / uncirculated precious metal, gold, silver, palladium, and platinum, and other metals, coins and medals (domestic or foreign).
Duties
As a Metal Forming Machine Operator, you will:
Be responsible for applying specialized skills, methods, procedures, and techniques to monitor and operate complex coin presses, rolling mills to press scrap metal and defective coins into sheet metal, upsetting mills, and other production and support machinery associated with the coin manufacturing industry.
Use automated data collection systems and any computerized automated systems associated with presses and other coin production machinery.
Operate and maintain machines to include startup, adjustment, stopping and other processes on burnishing, tumbling, rinsing and drying equipment and ensures optimal system operations.
Receive, issue, ship, and/or store commodities, i.e., gold, silver, platinum, palladium bullion bars, blanks, packaging materials, etc.
Receive, issue, record, and safeguard coinage dies and collars and prepare and maintain records, inventories and related statistical data.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.
You must meet the screen-out element Ability To Provide Production Support Services, normally addressed at the beginning of the online questions.
