This position is located at US Mint,West Point- MANUFACTURING DEPARTMENT. This position serves as a wage supervisor over a shift (may be subject to shift rotation) and is responsible for the overall supervision of the Coining Division's production, personnel, and operation of assigned shift.

Duties

As a Metal Forming Machine Supervisor, you will: Provide technical and administrative supervision to up to three subordinate units performing Wage Grade work through subordinate supervisors and Leaders. Be responsible for the quality of coins and metals produced with respect to their dimensions, tolerance specifications, and image quality for the care and management of all production equipment available for maximum utilization; for assuring schedule of repair of failed operational equipment, and maximum utilization of operational equipment. Responsible for meeting the established production quotas. Inspect daily operations to observe the work progress, to determine action necessary to expedite production, and to instruct subordinate supervisors. Expedite operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Maintain general inspection of production machinery to evaluate its mechanical condition; determine the extent to which operating capacities are realized and make recommendations for modifications or for procurement of equipment to increase production efficiency.
