This position is assigned to the United States Department of the Treasury, U.S. Mint, Manufacturing Department, West Point Mint, Plant Manager, Production Division. As a Metal Forming Machine Operator Leader you will be performing working leader duties and responsibilities for a variety of processes used in the making of circulated or uncirculated precious metal gold, silver, palladium, and platinum, and other metal coins and medals (domestic or foreign).
Duties
As a Metal Forming Machine Operator Leader you will:
Serve as a working leader over three or more employees engaged in trades and labor work
Relay work instructions from the supervisor to the employees being led
Make sure that sufficient work is available to keep employees busy
Advise the supervisor on training needs and assist with on the job training and other related requirements for employees
Apply specialized skills, methods, procedures, and techniques to monitor, operate, troubleshoot, adjust, prepare and repair specified and routine sections of complex coin presses, upsetting mills, and other production and support machinery associated with the coin manufacturing industry
