Duties
Responsible for the installation's Fire Prevention and Training program.
Conduct inspections and testing of the fire alarm and installed fire protection systems.
Supervise Fire Protection Inspectors and maintains time and attendance records.
Prepare employee performance standards and evaluates employee performance.
Establish a fire risk management survey and fire alarm system program.
Maintain an out of service record or chart for all fire protection installed systems to ensure repair or restoration is a priority.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty of up to 20% may be required.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- This position requires the completion of pre-employment and periodic subsequent medical examination in accordance with DoDM 6055.06 to ensure continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires the successful completion of an annual Job Performance Test.
- This position requires the participation in a Cardiovascular Physical Fitness program.
- This position requires the wearing of a uniform, safety apparel, and personal protective gear in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- This position is required to report for duty during Natural Disasters and other emergency situations as directed by the Fire Chief. A functioning telephone at your residence is required to aid in making contact during recall situations.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee works a 60 hour work week comprised of (x4) 9 hour days and (x1) twenty-four hour shift totaling 120 hours/pay period.
- This is a supervisory position and may require a supervisory probation.
