The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the smooth operation of the Deployments Section and to provide a complete range of readiness, planning, and logistical support to the commanders and all organizations within the wing.

Duties
Formulates tong-range, emergency, and contingency logistics and mission plans supporting the 316th Wing, tenants, and operating locations.
Negotiates and prepares support agreements, ensuring existing and future logistical requirements are included.
Provides technical guidance on logistics matters to other units within the squadron, and outside of it.
Conducts was and emergency planning and monitors related training, tests, and exercises.
Performs duties as Assistant Alternate Installation Deployment Office (IDO) in the absence of the flight commander (IDO) and Deployments of Section OIC (Primary Assistant IDO).

- The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- This is a "Key" position. It cannot be vacated during national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively. Unless an alternate can be (cont'd)
- (cont'd) designated to perform the duties of this position during wartime, the incumbent of this "Key" position must be screened from military recall status.
- The incumbent is subject to be on call on a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week basis in support of exercises, emergences , or war plans. The incumbent is expect to work 12-hour shifts during these periods.
- Employee may be required to travel by military or commercial transportation to accomplish temporary duty.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions for Logistics Management Series, 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of Air Force planning, procedures and policies to insure a complete and accurate plan. In-depth knowledge of Air Force organization principles and functional responsibilities of all base unites (to be bale to define proper responsibility for planning actions.) Knowledge of computer applications and operations that enable expedited operations in support of the wing mission. In-Depth knowledge of C-17 aircraft operational characteristics such as load planning, airdrop, and airland requirements and configuration management sufficient to insure efficient us of expensive and limit aircraft capability.

EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge and skill in the application of Department of Defense (DoD), Joint, and Air Force (AF) logistics planning principles, concepts, and directives as they pertain to deployment operations, war reserve materiel, base reception, and support.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices and procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small-to-medium sized organization.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge and skill to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, devise solutions to problems, and identify changes and trends.
Knowledge of organizational structure and functions of activates involved in providing logistical support.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
