This position is in the Mine Safety and Health Enforcement (MSHE). Position assists in the execution and coordination of all aspects of the Mine Safety and Health Administration's (MSHA) Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) programs. MSHE is also responsible for MSHA's programs and policies that affect broad areas of the mining industry.
This position is inside the bargaining unit.

Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
Qualifications

For the GS-13 grade level: Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience must include the following:
Analyze and review Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) requests submitted by the public, reconciling, and resolving requester complaints, disputes, and concerns.
Review, coordinate, track, and approve the information intended for release, ensuring that information is properly protected by one or more exemptions of 5 USC 552 or 5 USC 552a programs.
Provide policy guidance and advisory services related to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act (PA), and Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA).
Interpret and provide advice on new developments, recent court decisions, legislative actions, and/or Congressional initiatives regarding release of information under the FOIA and PA.
Analyze, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Education
There is no education substitution at the GS-13 grade level.
