This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serve as a Physical Security Specialist for Directorate of Emergency Services, White Sands Missile Range, NM
Duties
Responsible for physical security plans, procedures and inspections.
Identifying physical deficiencies of facilities.
Conducting routine physical and internal security inspections to identify deficiencies.
Ensuring all protocols are followed for daily operations, including key control.
Assisting in developing and implementing counter-terrorism strategies for eliminating installation vulnerabilities
Advising personnel engaged in planning and building of facilities with physical security requirements.
Present orientation and classes on physical security to security representatives/activity personnel.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the development and implementation of physical security operations plans and assessment of facilities to determine risks and vulnerabilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Criminal Justice, Security Management or Organizational Security and Management.
