About the Position: This Supervisory Security Specialist is located at White Sands Missile Range. G-2 Directorate (Protection) Branch with duty location of White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. (merit)
Duties
Serve under the Direction of the White Sands Missile Range G-2, Assistant Chief of Staff, Director/Security Office as the G-2 Supervisory Security Specialist (Protection) Branch Chief, overseeing Army Protection Programs.
Establish security programs ensuring consistency throughout the enterprise.
Advise on establishing comprehensive security protection programs.
Conduct studies to identify program issues to develop new/revised actions.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) business travel may be required approximately 20% of the time.
- Employee must submit to participate in the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency’s (DCSA) Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) program.
- Attaining a minimum of the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within two years of selection to the position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain AT Level II certification.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain OPSEC Level II certification.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Administer security programs to include Anti-Terrorism, Force Protection, Physical Security for an organization; 2) Conduct security inspections to ensure policy compliance; AND 3) Provide guidance to management officials on protection of personnel and assets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11/NH-02).
