About the Position:
Serves as a Security Specialist for the Center for Countermeasures (CCM). Functions as an expert in the development of a security program for CCM facilities, personnel, and programs.
Duties
Processes security clearance requests for up to Top Secret, special or high-level investigations requiring a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
Advises management and employees on re-investigation requirements and matters relating to maintenance of current clearances.
Manages subordinate unit access to automated PERSEC systems and databases.
Performs and conducts position sensitivity reviews. Validates access levels commensurate with mission requirements.
Serves as Trusted Agent Security Manager (TASM) for CCM. Also, acts as Trusted Agent (TA) for the Command. Manages Trusted Agents under CCM.
Manages the employee PERSEC clearance eligibility appeal process in coordination with associated DOD CAFs.
Serves as the Foreign Disclosure Representative (FDR) for CCM. Incumbent is the primary technical expert regarding foreign visits and contacts with foreign nationals.
Ensures command personnel are knowledgeable in all areas of security by conducting security training, briefings and inspections.
Requirements
- This position requires travel (TDY) up to 20% of the time.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing and resolving security problems in at least 2 of the following fields: personnel security (PERSEC), information security (INFOSEC), or industrial security; and providing guidance to management on security solutions that support the integration of mission requirements. Providing oversight of various enhanced and collateral security programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
