About the Position: Serves as a Traffic Management Specialist within the Ocean Cargo Clearance Authority (OCCA) Booking Office for a Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) Brigade.

Duties

Provides a wide range of customer services to customers for international, intermodal, port and -door shipments Provide technical transportation and contractual advice and assistance Analyze and identify opportunities for optimizing use of intermodal systems. Resolve issues related to transportation and distribution services. Assist with developing criteria and/or requirements to recommend changes in cargo distribution patterns.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position requires pre-employment Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
• The incumbent may be required to work nonstandard duty hours (e.g., shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime-both scheduled and unscheduled).
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless previously complete. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
