You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (DATAMGT) in the National Museum of the Marine Corps of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.
Duties
You will serve as National Museum of the Marine Corps's (NMMC) Department of the Navy Heritage Asset Management System database manager.
You will work with Marine Corps University (MCU) and other parent command IT staff in order to ensure DONHAMS meet all USMC security and Information Assurance requirements.
You will serve as contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for the DONHAMS contract and will be required to obtain and maintain COR certifications.
You will assist the Registrar, Collection Manager, and curators with processing of collections acquisitions and the preparation and maintenance of registration records.
You will monitor staff IT issues, submit work tickets, and work to resolve issues pertaining to network access, software needs, and hardware.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to achieve and maintain Ke EMu, Axiell, and SQL (structured query language) credentials for operating and troubleshooting DONHAMS, and teaching others to operate DONHAMs.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: developing and maintaining databases; generating complex queries and reports.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: managing user accounts; assisting in returning disrupted database systems to normal operations.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: advising others of software application issues and situations; making presentations to user and other IT personnel; informing users of new methods and procedures.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: diagnose application problems, run back-ups, maintain security, configure systems, administer database and perform database file maintenance.
GS-11: In addition to the four competencies above, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing overall management of data entry to include managing database access and data entry fields, verifying data accuracy, and overseeing data transfers, procuring and managing hardware and software to support the system AND inputting new accession data, artifact inventory and inventory data input.
GS-09: In addition to the four competencies above, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing assistance in system administration, data field management, data entry and data clean up.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, the education listed below can be utilized to meet minimum qualifications:
GS-11
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
OR
3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
GS-09
Master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
2 full years (36 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
