About the Position: This position is located in the Human Resources Department at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, Colorado
Duties
Serves as the Supervisor, Military Human Resources (HR), responsible for providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of HR programs.
Interprets and implements a wide variety of laws, DA and Major Command (MACOM) regulations.
Reviews and acts on a variety of military personnel activities, including but not limited to personnel actions, rating schemes, position authorizations, personnel assignments and requisitions, and promotion/selection boards.
Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Analyzes military HR management issues and problems and develops recommendations and alternative solutions.
Requirements
- Temporary Duty (TDY) may be required outside of local commuting area, approximately 10% of the time.
- This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- May be required to serve on permanent or rotating shifts and is subject to working nights/weekends/recalls and/or extensive overtime.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience interpreting and applying military personnel laws and regulations; preparing briefings and/or briefing senior management; and experience providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military HR programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Political Science.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
