You will serve as a REGIONAL ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF-TECHNICAL SERVICES in the Fire and Emergency Services of HDQTRS NDW.
Duties
You will serve as Assistant Fire Chief of Fire and Emergency Services Logistics, Apparatus, and Firefighting Equipment to manage and oversee all aspects of the department's logistics program.
You will provide assistance, advise, and recommendations concerning fire protection matters to all levels of commands.
You will research suppliers and alternate items as appropriate to make purchases in line with budget recommendations
You will determine criteria for the procurement and replacement of vehicles.

- Incumbent is considered essential to the day-to-day operations of the installation and is subject to immediate recall or long term shift assignments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- This position is considered a "secondary" position within the Firefighter Special Retirement System. Secondary positions are supervisory or administrative positions.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Preparing or monitoring budget submittals for the operation and maintenance of a fire department; 2) Managing the operation or repair of firefighting apparatus fleet and equipment; 3) Managing the collection and analysis of all records pertaining to firefighting training, equipment, and safety to identify and analyze any associated health hazards.

Certification Requirements:
The position requires the following accredited certifications:
Fire Officer I, II, & III, Fire Inspector I, II, & III, Fire Instructor I & II, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, Airport Firefighter.
**These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
Other training that must be obtained within one year of employment and maintained includes: Emergency Vehicle Operator, (EVOC), and must obtain and maintain National Registry or State EMT to meet the certification requirement.
