You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT of HDQTRS NDW.

Duties

You will oversee the Emergency Medical Services Program (EMSP) as Assistant Chief of Emergency Medical Services for Naval District Washington. You will manage the development and implementation of an emergency medical services risk management plan. You will develop procedures to verify that health safety issues are addressed during a post incident analysis. You will complete written reports and records on emergency services incidents, patients, drugs administered equipment, or supplies used. You will brief fire investigation findings to senior leaders.

  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current State or National Registry EMT-Basic and EVOC certification.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing assistance and/or recommendations concerning Emergency Medical Service Operations; 2) Recommending or developing policies, procedures, and/or operating standards for an Emergency Medical Service Program; 3) Developing programs to improve and/or maintain emergency medical system services; 4) Providing advice on emergency medical service care and policies. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position. In addition, this position requires possession of the following certifications: 1) Fire Officer III; 2) Fire Instructor II; 3) Fire Inspector II; 4) Airport Fire Fighter; and 5) HAZMAT Incident Commander. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
