As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as the Director of the Central Service Center and reports to the Executive Director, Service Center, Mission Support Services.
Duties
The Aviation Technical System Manager serves as the Director, ensuring timely and quality support services are provided to ATO service units and facilities within the service area. The position is at the highest non-executive managerial level and manages the work of a large, multi-level organization typically through subordinate managers. As the ATO's primary point of contact for support services in the Service Area and interacts with high level executives both inside and outside the Federal government to include FAA, ATO, Department of Defense, local and national law enforcement, the military, the private sector, members of Congress and their staffs in the regions and headquarters, and other principal agencies both local and national. Uses experience with the National Airspace Systems (NAS) equipment, procedures, or safety interventions, including their interrelatedness and functions in order to design, develop, modify, or evaluate the NAS. Identifies potential controversial issues within the NAS and makes sound recommendations to resolve them.

Qualifications
Candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the (FV-K or FG15) level that is typically in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized experience includes:Experience ensuring procedures and operations are directed toward continuous improvement of customer service, projects, and programs while ensuring alignment with established goals, objectives, and plans.

Education may not be substituted for experience at this grade level.
