This position is part of the Information Technology, Government Publishing Office in Washington,
District of Columbia.
Duties
Maintain a sound security posture of IT equipment and systems in development, testing, and production consistent with an agency's established policies, practices, and programs.
Formulate IT security policies and direct staff while building collaboration with key stakeholders in a library and/or publishing/information community.
Ensure IT security managers and supervisors are meeting timelines, working within budgetary guidelines, and providing high levels of customer service delivery.
Manage full-scale IT security projects to include conducting analytical studies, cost benefit analyses, developing or drafting procurement packages, etc. to meet strategic goals and objectives of a public program.
Direct special cybersecurity studies, initiatives, and work groups for a senior executive.
Provide system and application-level troubleshooting and identify technical issues' root cause.
Requirements
- You must be a current Career or Career Conditional GPO employee to apply.

- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

- Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
- TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify
- Selectee must pass a drug test prior to appointment.
- Selectee must pass a background check prior to appointment.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Chief Supervisory IT Specialist INFOSEC, PG - 2210 - 15 , you must meet the following requirements:
To minimally qualify for the PG-2210-15, your resume must reflect one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-14 pay band in the federal service which includes the following:
- Leading, directing, attracting, selecting, motivating, rewarding, and training and large, diverse IT Security staff according to relevant laws, policies, and procedures
- Applying NIST Risk Management Framework and conducting security vulnerability, audit, risk assessment, and risk management utilizing various federal managerial concepts, principles, laws, regulations, and policies
- Providing advice, assistance, and troubleshooting to customers for a broad range of operating systems, protocols, and systems while minimizing interruption to critical customer systems
- Managing a dynamic workforce, formulating program initiatives, and ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
- Assessing programs and improving processes through a wide range of methods
- Managing and supporting secure IT infrastructure assets, including DevOops, IT networks, telecommunications program assets, administrative servers and their peripherals, and management of asset server providers
- Protecting and defending information and information systems in order to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability
