This position is located at the Great Plains Area Youth Regional Treatment Center (GPAYRTC) located at 12451 Highway 1806 Mobridge, SD. The GPAYRTC is an 18-bed adolescent drug and alcohol treatment facility which provides residential substance abuse treatment services.
Duties
Compiles and assesses referrals for youth substance use disorder treatment at the GPAYRTC.
The incumbent provides and documents therapeutic and other clinical services to include individualized treatment and discharge/aftercare plans.
The incumbent provides updates to staff about admissions, help staff both track and ensure residents appropriateness prior to admitting.
The incumbent makes aftercare/discharge arrangements and coordinates the distribution of all authorized records to be released.
Provides consultation and training to staff members and the community in regards to admissions, aftercare, and treatment services to GPAYRTC, IHS, and the community.

Basic Requirements
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
or
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-9: 1 year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples Include: Completes case management assessment on all clients; develops individualized, integrated care plan; coordinates placement services; makes referrals to help patients obtain needed and related services and activities; provides monitoring, follow-up, and evaluation; coordinates discharge plans as determined by the patient's medical condition, level of independence, functional capacity, family/social support systems, and financial resources.
OR
I have completed 2 years (36 semester hours) of graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's that is directly related to the work of the position.
OR
I have a combination of education and experience, in one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field, that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage equals at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-09 grade level.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
