Duties

You will coordinate, monitor, and expedite the efforts of the SUPSHIP office and supporting NAVSEA activities throughout the ship construction period focusing on material readiness for events necessary to ensure timely ship delivery. You will develop and provide comprehensive and timely management reports, briefings, and presentations detailing the status of technical problems, industrial work, logistics support, and cost/schedule issues. You will establish and maintain the processes and procedures required to manage Government Furnished Equipment and Government Furnished Materials. You will function as the principal material readiness point of contact between Ship’s Force, certification and classification agencies, the SSGC organization and the shipbuilder through delivery and subsequent ship departure. You will provide managerial leadership and technical oversight in conducting materials planning meetings, in-process reviews, and mission readiness reviews related to class logistics support.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing supply chain management functions supporting material and resource readiness to ensure successful delivery of system or products.
