Salary: $90 662 - 140 155 per year

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Antiterrorism (AT) and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Division (J34) of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND. ???????A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary.

Duties

You will perform intelligence, threat, and risk mitigation research and analysis to support operational planning teams (OPT) and order process during real-world operations and exercises. You will review and provide recommendations to Joint Staff for Risk Personnel (HRP) Policy and Directives. You will draft and publish quarterly Security Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) report. You will utilize an expert knowledge of security procedures, antiterrorism, critical infrastructure protection and force protection doctrine and procedures in order to advise on all-hazards situations.

Requirements

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.

Qualifications

GS-13: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing an expert knowledge of security procedures, antiterrorism, critical infrastructure protection and force protection doctrine and procedures in order to advise on all-hazards situations. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1) Utilize an extensive knowledge of leadership, management, and personnel administrative concepts to effectively manage and implement security programs; 2) Draft and publish quarterly Security Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) report; 3) Perform intelligence, threat, and risk mitigation research and analysis to support operational planning teams (OPT) and orders process during real-world operations and exercises; and 4) Review and provide recommendations to Joint Staff for Risk Personnel (HRP) Policy and Directives. GS-12: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing a knowledge of security procedures, antiterrorism, critical infrastructure protection and force protection doctrine and procedures. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1) Assist in drafting quarterly Security Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) report; 2) Perform intelligence, threat, and risk mitigation research and analysis to support operational planning teams (OPT) and orders process during real-world operations and exercises; and 3) Review and provide recommendations to Joint Staff for Risk Personnel (HRP) Policy and Directives.
