Duties
This position is located in the Office of Legal Policy and Program Development (CG-LPD), HQ USCG, Washington, DC. The purpose of the position is to research and analyze legal issues relative to facts, issues and applicable policy; obtains additional facts and information; develops recommended conclusions with justifications; and prepares responses for attorney's review and signature.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
GS-11 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience. Your resume must demonstrate that you meet ALL the specialized experience below:
Responding to legal inquiries from customers; AND
Preparing and electronically file legal documents; AND
Conducting legal research into legislative history, precedent cases, decisions, and/or opinions; AND
Assisting in the processing of routine FOIA requests; AND
Preparing digests of case decisions.

EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Note: You must provide a copy of your official transcripts.
