This position is located in Office of Investigations, Complaints Management and Investigations Division. As an Investigative Specialist, you will serve as the primary investigative point of contact for agency personnel conducting serious non-criminal investigations into integrity or misconduct allegations.

Duties

Assists in the operations of the OI Intake Branch complaint receipt and analysis of employee misconduct allegations from a variety of sources. Prepares timely, accurate and concise investigative reports, assuring all investigative procedures and findings conform to applicable Federal, DHS, and USCIS policy, for use in civil, or administrative proceedings. Utilizes a case management system to accurately enter, retrieve, track, and maintain retain documentation. Performs quality assurance reviews of received and disposed complaints. Assists in the operation of the OI Social Media Investigative Program by participating in misconduct investigations and by developing social media policies and procedures. Assists the Evidence Program Manager in receiving, processing, storing, and protecting evidence or personal property. Employs advanced qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze a variety of law enforcement databases and other electronic tools to conduct e-searches on subjects under investigations.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 08/07/2024. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 08/07/2024. GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Maintaining ongoing collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Tracking progress, closure and disposition of case files. Receiving and triaging complaints from internal and external sources, referrals, and requests for assistance. Identifying, gathering, and analyzing relevant evidence, and documenting those findings. Supporting, conducting, or performing oversight of inquiries into allegations of misconduct affecting organizational programs and operations. Generate comprehensive evaluation reports and summary case assessments of employee misconduct for upper-level management.
