Duties

Contact referral agencies when the problem(s) requires immediate attention within the necessary timeframe and follows up with agencies to ensure clients have received the proper services. Providing an integrated system of service delivery which links clients with available and appropriate resources at the lowest cost and without duplication of effort. Serve as initial point of contact for all Army Community Service programs, Commanders and unit service coordinators in assessing, tailoring and prioritizing ACS services in preparing Families for mission-related absences. Serve as Army Community Service (ACS) Multi-Functional Specialist assisting with assessing, tailoring and prioritizing Army Community Service (ACS) service delivery in support of local military and family needs. Responsible for managing the property accountability taking necessary action to assure proper care, custody and use of property and the maintenance of appropriate property records.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized experience for Army Community Service Specialist, GS-09 position: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level that involves: 1) Provide relocation information and services to military and/or civilians AND 2) Assist with conducting newcomer orientation briefings to service members and/or family members. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as behavioral or social sciences degrees. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentage You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServiceInformation ManagementPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
