About the Position: This position is located with the ASAP Division within the Directorate of Human Resources, Fort Campbell, KY.
Duties
Oversees the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) Prevention programs.
Serves as the principal advisor to the Alcohol and Drug Control Officer (ADCO) on matters related to substance use and abuse and its effects on readiness.
Plans and develops local policies, procedures, and reporting requirements/systems to effectively accomplish goals.
Reviews charts and statistics for the ASAP drug testing program.

- Position may require incumbent to serve a 52 week supervisory probationary period upon entrance into the position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Basic Requirement for ASAP Prevention Branch Chief:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
AND
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes: 1) Experience developing, implementing, or coordinating a substance abuse prevention, risk reduction, or suicide prevention program; 2) Experience promoting program awareness; and 3) Experience conducting briefings to senior officials regarding substance abuse programs.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
